Am I becoming a living dinosaur? Two recent articles 1,2 in popular press sparked my interest. Both articles emphasize the ability to learn new things as a key to success, and with Dr. DeNayer, happiness. 14 Jul UVMA Zoo Day

On June 13, 2015 the UVMA held it’s annual membership meeting.  This year, UVMA President Dr. Paul Toniolli and the UVMA Board organized a zoo day held at Utah’s Hogle Zoo. These are the changes made to the UVMA Constitution & By-Laws.  The exact wording of changes that were voted on is listed below with the exception of the executive secretary title change in which “executive director” will replace “executive secretary” throughout the document. 21 May Rabies Vaccinations in Animal Shelters

The Utah Legislature passed SB 120 during the 2014 Legislative session. The passage of this bill allows Animal Shelters to admin- ister the Rabies vaccine to shelter animals under the indirect super- vision of a licensed veterinarian as outlined in the rabies compen- dium. The National Association of Public Health Veterinarians Compendium of Animal Rabies Prevention and Control, 2011 Part I.B.1 says: “Parenteral animal rabies vac- cines should be administered on- ly by or under the direct supervi- sion of a licensed veterinarian on premises. 21 May UVMA Board Meeting-St. George

During the begging of March the UVMA Board moved it’s normal board meeting from Salt Lake down to St. George to meet with the members and veterinarians in the Southern part of the State.
